Triptych: Guardian Through Time
This oil painting triptych explores the concept of guardian angels, unseen companions that watch over and protect us. Each panel offers a unique interpretation of these celestial beings, challenging our preconceived notions of their appearance and role.
The first panel depicts a darkened bedroom, illuminated only by the soft glow of a bedside lamp. The only visible element is a portion of an angel's wing, extending from the darkness. A small cat roams the room, its silhouette cast by the moonlight. This panel suggests the angel's presence, even in the most mundane and intimate moments of our lives.
The central panel reveals a full depiction of the female angel, her long, curly hair flowing freely. This image challenges our traditional notions of angelic appearance, suggesting that these celestial beings may take on a variety of forms.
The third panel depicts the same bedroom, now bathed in daylight. The cat, now grown larger, crosses the room, symbolizing the passage of time. A portion of the angel's wing is visible through the window, reminding us of the angel's enduring presence, even as time marches forward.
This triptych offers a multifaceted exploration of guardian angels, revealing their constant companionship and their ability to adapt to our changing circumstances. The paintings suggest that angels are not merely distant, ethereal beings, but rather are intimately involved in our lives, guiding and protecting us from the shadows to the light.
